A captured or modeled waveform can be selected as input. This signal is then processed through AC coupling, MR asymmetry compensation (3rd-order), continuous-time filtering, adaptive discrete-time filtering and whitening filter. This screen also provides automatic gain control (AGC) and 2nd-order PR4 phase-locked loop (PLL). Trajectories of the gain and timing loops (shown above) and of the FIR tap weights are available with a radiobutton click. Decision-directed (slicer) and data-directed adaptation are supported.

This screen is augmented by a companion screen that supports the insertion of noise, offset and/or delay at 12 different locations in the channel front-end. For example, the response of the PLL to a 5% phase error, inserted at the Nth bit, can be easily analyzed.
